Pathogenesis – etiology, predisposing factors, pathophysiology, timecourse
Diagnosis – client history, presenting signs, urinalysis, biochemistry, hematology, radiography, 2D ultrasonography
Treatment – replace body fluid deficits, address electrolyte and acid/base disorders, turn off ketosis and address hyperglycemia, identify and address underlying or precipitating factors
Outcomes – guarded until stabilized, up to 30% mortality
