Cause – poorly understood; possible mechanisms include type 1 hypersensitivity to inhaled allergens or neurogenic bronchoconstriction.
Signs – coughing and/or dyspnea.
Diagnosis – presenting problems, client history, diagnostic investigation.
Treatment – oxygen, corticosteroids and bronchodilators.
Prognosis – variable, many cats suffer recurrences but some are well controlled.
