This module looks at diagnosis, treatment, prevention and outcomes of dermatophilosis in horses, including:
Cause – Dermatophilus congolensis.
Signs – alopecia and crusting.
Diagnosis – microscopic identification of Dermatophilus congolensis.
Treatment – keep dry +/- topical antibacterials +/- systemic antibiotics.
Prognosis – good.
